Hi, my name is Tesa, I was born and raised in Louisiana, the deep South of the United States. A true Cajun with a passion for cooking and enjoying the gatherings of friends and family, because when a Cajun cooks, everybody eats. My Food and Beverage career started when I was 19 years old. I’ve worked and managed coffee shops, bars, restaurants, casinos and nightclubs throughout the USA and the UK. My love developed early on when I was thrown behind a bar because someone didn’t show up for a shift. I knew at that moment, I had found my calling.

30 years in, I couldn’t be more grateful for all of life’s lessons and knowledge I have gained in this industry. If everyone were required to work in Hospitality, we would have a much more understanding and kinder world around us. No University could have prepared me for this. Playfully known as the Misfits or the Motley Crew, there is no place I would rather be.

A typical day at Yuzu Training for me is the enjoyment of talking about my experiences in Hospitality with Learners. It’s an industry I have always loved and the excitement of training others who have the desire to learn these skills motivates me to deliver with the same passion I have for the industry. I started with Yuzu Training after reading about the Skills For Life Bootcamp through Hampshire County Council. I had such appreciation for the course material, that I knew right away, that this is where I could make a difference to someone’s life.

My proudest accomplishment is seeing a Learner give 100% effort towards their future and being able to provide them with the tools and knowledge they need to have a successful career. I look forward to hearing their stories and seeing the same spark in their eyes that I have always carried.

At Kiwi, I see everyone work toward future goals and successes. When this occurs, there is no better place to be. I work with many amazing, talented people from different industries and everyone has a passion for their role.

My approach to training is the same approach I have to work in the business. Unlock the doors and let’s have some fun!

I believe that Skills Bootcamps are important for the workplace of tomorrow as employers want reliable, well-trained work-ready team members. This can save the company time and money and the knowledge and training that skilled employees bring is invaluable to the workforce.
