Hi, I’m Nicky! I joined Kiwi & Yuzu in early 2022 and have had the opportunity to work across many of the company’s contracts, starting with AEB, then Traineeships, moving on to Apprenticeships, and now focusing on Bootcamps. My role involves collaborating with external agencies to promote the courses we offer, securing referrals, and maintaining strong relationships. A significant part of my job is handling enrolments, DUS, and tracking learner progress. I ensure that milestones are met and support learners in reaching their final goals, whether that’s securing employment or pursuing further education.

Before joining Kiwi & Yuzu, I worked with other local education providers, offering work experience opportunities to learners and working closely with employers to arrange placements. I also have experience subcontracting with the DWP to support unemployed individuals in finding work. Additionally, I managed a supported housing project for young people aged 16-25.
On a personal note, I have three children, all over 16, one of whom is currently planning her wedding. I also have four little dogs who are my constant companions while working from home—they definitely help keep me sane during busy times!

A day in the life for me is filled with numbers, meeting targets, and completing online enrolment and milestone documents, all with my four furry friends by my side. Some days, I get so absorbed in my work that time just flies by—it’s certainly never boring!
I was fortunate to start with Kiwi & Yuzu thanks to a connection with Kerry, whom I worked with at a previous company. When a role became available here, Kerry reached out to me, and the rest is history.

One of my proudest achievements at Kiwi & Yuzu was completing the AEB contract and helping the team achieve our contractual target. It was a significant milestone and a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone involved.

The best thing about working here is definitely the management, the staff, and the company as a whole. It might sound cliché, but everyone is so approachable, and we always celebrate each other’s achievements. The focus on the learner is also something I’m really passionate about.I’m excited for the future with Kiwi & Yuzu because the directors aren’t afraid to think outside the box. I’m sure we have lots of exciting tasks ahead

I thinks Skills Bootcamps and apprenticeships are important because Many people don’t thrive in a traditional classroom setting, and that’s okay. At Kiwi & Yuzu, we’re all about putting the learner at the center of their education. Each learner can learn in the way that suits them best, rather than being forced into a one-size-fits-all approach. This method gives everyone, especially those who might be less confident or ambitious, the chance to learn and grow.
