Hi, my name is Ruth. I have worked within the further education sector for over twenty-five years, I’m a qualified teacher, careers advisor, and quality assurer. Over the years I have transitioned from teaching to further education management and Quality assurance. My passion lies in advancing teaching and learning practices and guiding our trainers to support learners in reaching their full potential. At Kiwi Education & Yuzu Training, I serve as the designated Safeguarding and Prevent lead ensuring a safe learning environment for all. I also lead on career information, advice and guidance.

No day is the same! Some days I have the honour of speaking directly with our learners to gather their thoughts and ideas which inform our quality improvements. Other days I observe teaching and learning practice to enhance our team’s already excellent methods. Another day I’ll be knee-deep in compliance auditing looking through our documentation. When needed I support learners and team members with safeguarding enquiries.

I also attend many regional networking meetings covering a variety of topics; including local skills and employment needs, Prevent and Safeguarding risk updates and sharing best practices with other training providers to name just a few.
