Geared towards individuals aged 19 and above, this course offers an exciting entry point into the world of sustainability careers Learning through group study sessions, you’ll explore the basics of sustainability, getting a grip on concepts that can empower

essential eco-friendly practices.


Discover the path to achieving net-zero status, learning about strategies and tech that help shrink our carbon footprint.


Dive deep into why sustainability is crucial today, covering environmental, social, and economic angles that make it a big deal. Get hands-on with emissions and their impact on climate change, unwrapping the science behind it all.


Then, jump into crafting your own Sustainability Action Plan, gaining skills to put sustainability into action – whether in a big company or your local community. Explore climate change, check out how businesses can be green, and even get personal with a module on Sustainable Living, sharing tips for everyday eco-friendly choices.


Stay up to date in the latest in sustainability with Innovations, and wrap up by peeking into the Future of Sustainability – what’s next, challenges, and how you can be part of it.

You may be eligible to apply for a Skills Bootcamp if you:

  • Are aged 19 or over
  • Have the right to work in the UK
  • Live in England
  • Meet residency requirements – Our eligibility criteria requires that you live in Hampshire & are able to travel to Portsmouth.

We have cohorts starting regularly from January 2024. Sign up now & we will contact you to assign you to the next available cohort.

For Employers

Our Skills Bootcamps can help you business achieve its Net Zero aspirations by:

  • Developing a loyal and talented workforce with the skills you need quickly
  • Futureproofing your business in a rapidly changing labour market
  • Improve your productivity; learners are motivated to learn new skills, provide new ideas and a fresh perspective
  • Recruiting staff with the right training and skills from the outset
  • Get access to a pipeline of skilled adults by working with existing Skills Bootcamp providers

There is no cost to employers who recruit individuals who have completed a Skills Bootcamp.

Employers contribute to the cost of training if they want to use Skills Bootcamps to train their existing employees.

Large employers contribute 30% of the cost, and small or medium employers (SMEs) contribute 10%.

Existing employees may need time to study and attend classes depending on their working hours and status and the flexibility of the course.

Employers responsibilities may include:

  • A safe work environment
  • An induction which includes explaining relevant policies and procedures
  • A line manager to support, supervise and mentor the student
  • A guaranteed interview as part of the Skills Bootcamp provision

Solent Partners has successfully secured over £1.2m from the Department for Education (DfE) to support the establishment of Skills Bootcamps for the Solent region. 

This funding will boost the Solent’s workforce, ensuring employers have access to new talent, and individuals acquire the skills to get the type of jobs that they aspire to.
