Course Introduction
Electric mobility and the popularity of electric passenger vehicles have been growing rapidly over the last decade and this trend doesn’t show any signs of slowing down.
However you measure it – EV sales, EVs on the roads, government EV mandates, EVs as a percentage of all vehicle sales, or simply vehicle manufacturers making electric mobility pledges – it’s undeniable that the future is electric and the age of internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles is coming to an end.
Course Overview
This programme has been put together to introduce candidates to the world of electrical installation. It has been designed to give you a taste of what it’s like to work as an electrician in the domestic environment installing renewable technologies and electric vehicle charge points, and to provide you with a head start in the electrical apprenticeship.
We focus on the knowledge, skills, and behaviours needed to assist you in enrolling on an accelerated apprenticeship in Installation and Maintenance Electrician (ST0152), and/or to further your career, to successfully take on new work or more responsibility.
You will be trained and assessed on your practical and theoretical competence throughout the course to ensure you understand how to carry out electrical work in domestic premises such as installing electric vehicle charge points.
All learners will benefit from coaching and mentoring during & the programme, where required, to support job progression along with high-quality advice and guidance to support you in a positive employment outcome.
